GRANT APPLICATIONS

The Foundation is adopting processes for supporting collaborative, cooperative efforts that transcend single organizations by bringing together knowledge, experience, and expertise. 

Just as all projects and programs have different goals and outcomes, the Foundation has created different applications for each grantmaking program. Please refer to the following program pages for information regarding each program. 

OLD APPLICATION PORTAL

Our old application portal will sunset on August 25, 2025. If you would like a copy of any previously submitted applications or reports, please download them prior to August 25.

The Foundation invests in our most under-resourced neighborhoods, located in 70802, 70805, 70806, 70807, 70811, and 70812. The 2025 Empower application process is closed and will re-open in February 2026.

The Foundation invests in projects and programs to support our most vulnerable people throughout the 10-parish area. Applications for the Engage portfolio are currently open and due on August 29 at 5 p.m.

HAWF hosted a virtual informational session on Wednesday, July 30th at 2:00 p.m. to discuss the grant guidelines and an overview of the application process. The Zoom recording and PowerPoint presentation from the info session are available. Limited technical assistance sessions are available on August 7, 13, 19 and 21. These sessions are designed for first-time applicants, applicants with specific questions regarding program alignment, or for those seeking more than $100k per year. Please use the Zoom Scheduler to schedule your appointment. It may take up to one hour to receive a confirmation and calendar appointment from Zoom.

The Foundation invests in capacity building efforts to strengthen nonprofits in the 10-parish Greater Baton Rouge area.
